“Soko” Guinea Djembe Drum and Dunun class in Bangkok

Soko rhythm taught by Michael Pluznick at beginers African djembe drum and dunun class in Bangkok, Thailand. For practicality Michael shows both traditional and non traditional, (i.e. ‘ballet”) styles of dunun playing. Ballet style dunun playing is when you play one, two or more dunun drums on the ground with the heads up rather then playing the dununs sideways.

La Funk from Miles Dean CD shot in Thailand

This video was shot on Koh Samui island in Thailand by Michael P.  It features music by Michael Pluznick and Joel Lindheimer from their new CD, “Miles Dean”. The name of the tune is La Funk. Bill Ortiz from the Santana band plays trumpet and Pedro De Jesus on vocals and traditional afro cuban folkloric chants for the yoruba orisha Obatala.
