Smile

Smile when you play

A very important muscle exercise to practice and to use when drumming is your smile.

I have made over 350 youtube videos and one thing I notice is that often people, including myself are not smiling when they play. We are so serious, we want it to be correct. But remember, having fun is a big part of “playing” and remembering to smile when performing and even practicing to hold your smile will not only change your practice sessions into a more rewarding experience but it will make your listeners respond to you more positively when you play and perform as well.

It is way more attractive and engaging to experience musicians and drummers smiling
and connecting with s as an audience then to watch people scowling, staring down at their drum or looking much to serious!
