In this video Michael adds 35 more useful and practical hand patterns to his immensely popular video, “66 useful hand patterns for djembe”. Each hand pattern is shown at moderate or slow speed and also with a secondary slightly slower close up of the hands. “These are useful, practical West African based djembe drum hand patterns I have learned over the last 40 years studying, traveling and performing with teachers and friends all around the world”. The majority of the hand patterns are traditional and a small amount of non traditional are included as well as fundamental hand patterns and rhythms. “These are not offered as an end all or the only way. I have also tried to offer uncommon or lesser known parts in an effort to explore the differences as well as similarities in the wide world of rhythm exploration”.
