In this 9 minute lesson Michael will show you two very interesting, creative and fun rhythms to play on your djmebe (or conga) for hip hop and funk music situations. The first rhythm is based on a Malian rhythm called Diansa, The second rhythm is based on A Guinea rhythm called Soli Lent or Soli Slow. Michael has adapted them for use in popular music.
He will demonstrate the rhythm in real time with a track that includes bass and drums. He will show you how it’s played fast, slowed down, with a metronome, in slow motion, and also with a break down session where you can learn the rhythm step by step.
