“Soko La Bata” is a west african djembe drum and dance world music and world fusion musical and drum piece featuring afro cuban bata and santos (santeria/Orisha) chants by both Pedro De Jesus and Jesse Seymour to Yemaya godess of the Ocean. We combine traditional bata drums with west african djembe and dununs as well.

Dating from the 12th century, Bayon Temple is the spectacular central temple of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. This video was shot on Koh Samui island in Thailand by Michael P. It features music by Michael Pluznick and Joel Lindheimer from their new CD, “Miles Dean”. The name of the tune is La Funk. Bill Ortiz from the Santana band plays trumpet and Pedro De Jesus on vocals and traditional afro cuban folkloric chants for the yoruba orisha Obatala.

This video features Bangkok’s inner city, architecture and temples along with a nice sunset and other Asian and Thai scenarios. This musical composition was a collaboration with maestro Jim Chapelle, percussionist Michael Pluznick and arranger, composer, and guitarist Joel Lindheimer. The music is based on the uptempo and festive Afro Cuban traditional and folkloric carnival percussion arrangement know as Comparsa.
