I am now offering the best djembes made on the planet. I source the shell from either Ivory Coast, Guinea or Mali. We then construct and make the drum from scratch, from a log… to your specifications. Everything can be chosen by you from the size to the decoration. The shell is gone over with a fine tooth comb. It is oiled and treated. The bearing edges are done perfectly and all shells are balanced.

What makes something “the best”? To me it means that every aspect of it the instrument has been thought over and gone over. It might look simple but the drum speaks for itself.

Many people do not understand that the djembe drum is actually a fine musical instrument. As much work is need as any other instrument made. Just as much as a fine violin,  guitar piano or any other hand crafted instrument.

Great knowledge, skill and abilities are needed to produce a fine djembe and many hands go into its production. Every aspect of making a djembe takes much time and also consideration. Many people make djembes but not everyone can make a great djembe that has “the sound”!

We source the best possible skins that are  then inspected very carefully. They are always thinned and evened out so that the skin is even on all sides and  your drum does not go out of round and is easier to tune. All types of skins are available from goat, camel, mule to calf and cow.

Shells that are too heavy are lightened. We use the highest quality rope, again of your choice. We use glued on rubber bottoms or tires based on your preference.

By customizing every option on your drum you can get the precise musical instrument you need! The drum will not be cheap, it will be the finest hand crafted djembe you have ever experienced!

I am a one person operation and I source out all aspects of the production to the best resources. Each drum is a special order and is not released by me until everything is checked over completely to my satisfaction.
